I had trouble with my dvd (HP lightscribe DVD/RW)drive dissapearing after 2
days on a new copy of windows vista home premium, on a new (HP pavilion)
computer. I found a solution of going into the registry, exporting the
registry folder for the drive, then deleting the lower/upper value lines.
After restarting, the drive was back. Now my drive disapears when I unistall
software programs I don't use. Device manager shows it's there with a (code
10). Is there a way I can fix this? i would like to be able to unistall
programs without my DVD drive disapearing.
Thanks in advance for any help

I have a similar problem with my two DVD AOpen and LG, both DVD drives are
disappearing without apparent reasons. I use to just restart the computer
and then they reappeared but for some reasons now, they are not reappearing
anymore. In the Device Manager, they are showned with a yellow exclamation
point. When trying to update driver, I get the message that they already
use the most updated driver.

This seems to be a Vista problem. Can anyone come to my help?
