Combo drives have two lasers, one for CDs and one for DVDs. You can try a
drive cleaner on it but most probably the CD laser has died. Just replace
the drive.

I have a DVD drive made by Top Glory Electronics and it is a model
DX-DVDR100. It reads DVDs and CDRW discs.
The problem I have with it is that when I insert a CD, it just revs up
and
down and it won't display any of the files that are in it.
If anyone can help me resolve this problem, thanks in advance for your
help.

PS: If you need any info on my operating system, I have
Windows XP SP2, 735 mhz processor, 496mb RAM memory
