DVD-drive not showing up on "My Computer"

.......i installed Power DVD in my cpu and have the hardware installed in the
PC but i still don't see it shown up in "My Computer". the dvd drive opens
and closes and the green light flashes but i still don't see it anywhere in
"My Computer" so therefore the dvd's don't work.
