DVD drive gone from My Computer/Explorer

My Sony DVD drive doesn't show up in My Computer or Windows Explorer
ant more and nothing happens when I try to run a disc in it. It does
appear in ther BIOS. Any ideas?

I'm sorry if this has been answered before. I searched the groups in
Google but didn't find an answer.

Does it appear in device manager?
