I have a problem with my drive reading blank disk of any kind. I have tried
them all - DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW. When I insert a blank disk to make
movies, Windows Explorer reports that there is 0 USED space and 0 FREE space;
hence other software can not write to the blank disk.

Please NOTE the following:
(1) I can play DVD titles.
(2) I can read READ/WRITE CD roms
(3) I have InterVideo software, WMM, IE7, XP SP2, and WMP 11 installed

Please help.

Maybe your burner reads and writes
CDs but only reads DVDs.

What is the brand and model number
of your DVD drive?
