When i first got my notepad when i loaded a dvd movie it
used to play right off, now i have to go to the drive
first and click on it for it to start. Also when i put
another type of disc in (lets say a music disc) i used to
get a window up asking me what i wanted to do with it,
but no more!!!
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance you will be blessed in another life.

It sounds like you've disabled Autostart/AutoPlay on the drive in question.
Go to "My Computer", right click the drive in question and choose
Properties. Go to the AutoPlay tab and see what your settings are like for
that drive.

Thanks for that kev, The thing is ive tried that, thats
the kind of window i used to get come up in the first
place now when i try to load my rules for the DVD movie
as soon as i apply it and then click in and out its gone
back to the top which is music files, driving me nuts but
thanks for your help ant more ideas gratefully accepted

You don't have TweakUI or X-Setup Pro (or similar program installed) do you?
You can disable AutoPlay in those utilities and the result won't necessarily
show up in the normal Properties selection. It's also possible to disable
AutoPlay directly through the registry. You can always get yourself one of
those utilities and try enabling/disabling the AutoPlay through those to see
if it has any effect. Just another tip, in case it helps.

Do a Google search for (Auto Play wizard) it's a small programe from
Microsoft, this should sort you out.
Good Luck
Del.
