Hi !

There's currenty a sale at my local staples. Among the items in
promotion there's Verbatim DVD-R 8x 50 disk cylinder for $20 (cdn),
more than half the regular price.

In another store, I see the same Verbatim disks in 5 unit box for.. $1
(reg. price: $7.49)

Is there something "technoligically related" hidden behind these
specials ? (I mean : other than a huge marketing pitch) ?

Thanks

Nope, it isnt that uncommon if you look for the best prices.

They're normally runouts of what is no
longer the bleeding edge technology wise.

Hello, Rod:

I've recently gotten brand-name (Verbatim 4x & JVC 8x) 50-pack DVD-R
"spindles," for slightly under $19 apiece, locally (in the USA). After
all, how much could it cost to shoot those simple things out, like
hotcakes?

Very little assembly required, I'd gather. ;-)

Yeah, the prices did stop dropping as dramatically
there for a while, but are very decent now.

True, but that is just as true of the ones with movies on them too |-)
