Hi,

I asked this question before, but none of the replies hit the right spot.

My DVD-ROM Drive (D:) passes all the diagnostic test etc, tells me the
device is working properly etc. However, when I put a disk in the drive,
the lights activates as the drive appears to picks up the disk but then I
get the error message
"Insert Disk - Please insert a disk into drive D:"

No matter what I do, re-open and close the tray, re-boot my PC nothing
changes.

I have checked for new drivers, but I have the most current driver
installed.

Any ideas please

Thanks
John

What kind of disk, it this a commercial DVD, a commercial CD, a CD or DVD
you recorded, is this a movie, an application, a data disk (if a data disk,
how was it created) what precisely are we talking about?

Hi Michael,

Sorry, should have stated, this applies to any disk in the drive, DVD, Audio
CD etc. all of which are the genuine commercial item. No home-made versions
or suspect disks.

Cheers
John

Regardless of your diagnostic tests, if it won't run anything, I suggest
having a shop check it out?

Hi, Michael,

Thanks, that was my next move if all else failed.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers
John
