I recently updated my previously owned laptop from
Windows 98 to Windows XP Home. All went well except for
the DVD player. When I attempted to install the InterDVD
software(I do have a dvd drive) it said it was not a
qualified system..it is specifically for a Gateway PC
which our desktop is. So I cannot install the DVD
software. My question is since the 98 system is still
there can I copy the decoder/driver to the new XP system
and how do I find it? Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks Cojo

Hello there,

I'm not certain of course, I would guess drivers for 98 will not work on XP,
especially if they were created before XP....Its not clear from your message,
but taking a guess and assuming that you actually have two systems up and
running.....if you can network them, simply tell the XP system to search for
the driver(s) in the Windows\System32 directory of the 98 machine. You should
get a list of drivers appear, and if you are lucky.........

If the machines are not networked can you burn a CD or DVD with the files from
that directory?

We can tell you are not certain. DVD Decoder packages
consist of the DVD decoder (AX file), Audio decoder (AX
File), and generally a Navigater (Also AX File)

Hello Mr. Brown,

I strongly suspect that this person is an MVP. Whether she is or not,
her conduct is far below that which you have stated is unacceptable. I wish
to urge you to deal with this issue at your earliest convenience. It should
be very easy to determine who she actually is from the message I.D. as I am
sure you are aware.

Best Wishes.....John Kelly
