Hi, I have windows xp home and have managed to copy
music and film to basic 80 minute cd but have a larger
film to copy so i have brought DVD-R 4.7 gigabyte
recordable disc's. Unfortunately when I try to copy to
these new discs Windows doesn't seem to know the disc is
ready to copy, message is, load blank cd and of course I
have already....any suggestions please..

To copy a DVD, first of all you need a recordable DVD drive, A CD-R/RW drive
cannot record DVD's. You will then need 3rd party software such as Nero to
actually record the DVD as the in-built CD recording software in XP doesn't
support DVD recording... You'll also need DVD authoring software to create
the relevant VOB's for you, and if the source DVD is a copy protected one
(most are), you'll need software to rip the original source...
