DVD & CD Rom not reading

Neither my CD Rom or DVD seem to be reading the discs. If I go to my
computer a CD is shown in the CD rom. If I click on the icon the cd
cotents are shown but if I click on cd set up nothing happens. I have
tried this on several discs and no auto run either. I have checked
device manager with no obvious problems.
Any advice

Either use a CD cleaning kit or replace the drive.
