DVD / CD problems

Hi after updating from XP home to XP pro ,my DVD and CD
drives are not working (not even drive names are
displayed).When i used device manager to
troubleshoot ,there is a yellow exclamation before the
DVD and CD names.Can any one help me out to solve this
problem

I had the same problem with my computer after installing
Sevice Pack 1a. When I removed SP1a my drives returned to
working normally
