I boot from dvd and it loads the first black screen with white bar.. then it
prompts for language select.. then changes the screen and an error window
appear with the message: can't find dvd/cd drive driver, try to get it from
disk / cd /...

you can't do anything and it hangs on a loop with the error.. I can't follow
with the installation..

¿any ideas?..

What make and model of dvd drive? There have been problems reported with a
few models of dvd drive so far.

I'm having the same issue--apparently a lot of people are--except that I'm
using the 32-bit version.

The DVD drive is a Creative Labs DVD1240E

It's the master drive on the second IDE channel. I have seen posts that say
moving it to the first IDE channel as a slave works in some instances, but I
don't feel like tearing down a SFF box just to try it.

If you are not skillful in that level of PC work or do not want the hassle
then I suggest that you wait for the final version of Vista. This build is
not ready for consumer use. It is for very experienced computer persons.
It involves skills in the installation of operating systems and work with
device drivers.

I have both DVD-RW LG conected to the IDE buses , both in master mode. De HD
are SATA and I have them in the SATA bus.

I think must be a bug of vista version, I won't change to slave or something
else..

Thanks for your answers
