I have a problem after having a game lock up on me today in my cd drive. I had to do a ctr/alt/del reset to get the computer to boot up. Now when placing a cd into the drive the drive light flashes then stops without autoplay starting up. When selcting the program I get a error message. THe top title bar reads, "Cannot locate the CD-Rom". The error message reads "Please insert the correct CD-Rom, select OK and restart application."

I need some help fixing this problem, I don't know what I did but I can't get the drive to read. I have tried some of the suggestions posted already on this board with no luck including this suggestion.

rt click on MyComputer>Select Prop>Hardware>Device Manager. Go to
IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers rt click on
Primary and select Properties>Advanced Settings. See if DMA is enabled. If
yes, change to PIO Mode. Do the same in
Secondary. If DMA is NOT enabled in either one then enable it in both.

This did not work for my problem so what can I do now?

I am having a similar problem, perhaps our problems are
the same. None of my CD-ROM Drive will recognize a CD if
I insert it after Windows has started. If I insert the
CD, restart the computer, the CD will work. But if I
eject and reinsert, nothing...

Does this happen to you?
