Okay so I have been trying to play a baulder's gate 2 portable game off of a DVD and everytime I try to start the game it tells me that my drive is write protected. Is there any way for me to disable this feature? I have scouraged the internet for the past few houres and I have yet to find another case that fits my description and the few that were close didnt have a solution that would work for me. I have a Gateway 564GE with Windows XP (if you need any more info I can try to provide it Im not sure what all you'll need). Any help would be greatly appretiated.

Sounds like there's emulation software running somewhere i.e. demon tools, virtual drive etc.
There are various forms of protection built into most games to detect these applications.
There are various applications/tools to "hide" them but if this is the case then the chances are that you'd already been informed of this.

Done a quick search.... Copyright infringment here. LOCK THREAD.

Baulders Gate Portable etc is a unsupported modded version of the game. It's designed to play of media with R/W access... ie... hard-drive, usb flash drive etc.

It's distributed by many torrent sites.
