windows 2000xp home system. Do I need to add new hardware etc !!! Thanks

You need a DVD burner, and the software that will most likely come with it,
for example, a Plextor DVD burner and Nero Burning ROM.

Thanks Ray .. but my computer came with a DVD burner but I guess it didn't come with the software. On the tower it says DVD rom to put in a disc .. I can find a WinDVD under search but it won'r burn anything unless I don't have it configured correctly. Could this be a possiblility ? Thanks

On your DVD drive, if on the outside it says 'DVD-ROM,' then you will not be
able to use it to make/burn new DVD's. DVD-ROM stands for Read Only Memory.
If this is indeed the case, you will need to buy a DVD-R/W drive which are
designed to burn DVD's for you. I think most can be had for around $70 and
under. Most come with DVD making software, but check and be sure.

Hope this helps
