dvd burning problems

I am having problems burning dvd's. It doesnt matter if its a plus or a minus it still will not burn movies or data. I have an optorite dd0203 combo drive. I have tried the driver update from the manufacturer and so far they're update doesnt even upload. Can anyone help?
