dvd burner

We have 2 pc's with a 12x DVD writer & a 16x DVD writer. The problem is the
12x runs so much faster & the reason is the 16x uses ~100% of the cpu while
the 12x uses ~5%.

Here is the info on the 16x: ND-3550A nec brand, 2 gig Celeron, 240mb ram,
40g harddrive, 16x
says it will use dma if available.

12x: VOM-12E48X lg brand (i think) ,1400+ amd cpu, 360mb ram, 40g harddrive,
12x says it will use dma if
available.

Anyone got any ideas? TIA
