DVD Burner Problems

After completing a burn on my computer it wont play on any other
devices...Dell said that its a Vista issue! Does anyone kno how to get
around this problem?
 
Thanks so far BigJim...i tried to burn on a dvd+r and with roxio as my
software. Im just trying to burn another copy of a home movie. The one copy
i completed had video and no audio but played in a dvd player and the one the
dell tech completed played perfectely on the computer but showed disc error
in the dvd player...thats when the tech said that there is a vista problem

Basic questions:
Did you close the DVD after your burned it?
Is your DVD player an older model that is not compatible with DVD+R
discs?
