DVD BACKUP ISSUES

I have a Lite-on DVDRW 812S 8X DVD +\- Burner.

When I backup my DVD's they dont work in my players. It comes up with
'unknown disc' and 'disc error' errors. My software is the latest. It used to
burn DVD's, and its only happened after I burnt a CD. Im pretty sure this is
a windows issue...

Its only being recognized as a CD drive in my explorer and will only burn
CD's. All the drivers and settings say its working properly.

Has anyone had these problems or can help me out?

Some DVD medias work better in set-top DVD players. Also, burning at a
slower speed can help with the playback compatibility.

What are you trying to backup?? If you are trying to copy a movie, no luck!!
Try to find a copy of DVD-X Copy Platinum on e-Bay or Google. Copying
copyrighted movies in the US is illegal and any software that does it is only
available through non retail channels. Also if you are using DVD+ disks and
have an older DVD player they will not play. DVD- plays on most anything.
