Does anyone know which popular DVD authoring (burning) software can read the
WMV format in case I want to burn DVDs that can be popped into a standard DVD
player.

Also, does anyone know if there will ever be a plugin developed to allow MM2
produce mpeg-2?

Thanks,
cucu

Sonic MyDVD 4.5 and higher reads WMV files from Movie Maker.... but the
newer version is needed to read Photo Story 3 WMV files.

The version of MM2.1 for the Media Center Edition 2005 burns DVDs, so it has
the ability to save as or convert to MPEG-2 files....

Movie Maker 2 - www.papajohn.org

Photo Story 3 - use the menu branch at www.papajohn.org

..

Nero also reads WMV files - I have had some bug issues with variable
bit rate (VBR) files (about 5 releases ago), but I normally output at
2.1Mbps fixed and have no problems.

While I note some older discussion on the rendering quality of Nero
rendering I have no issues (on my low definition TV)

Hello there,

THE BEST you will ever get at our end of the market is Nero 6 Reloaded (Current
version) and not just because it can do what you want...it can also re-edit a
DVD with no loss of quality (If you do not want to recreate the project with
all the tedium that doing that involves) and of course it will do ALL of your
CD, VCD and DVD tasks, including backing up your hard drives, a very very good
all rounder with some amazing abilities

Hi,
I just purchased Nero 6 and I don't know anything about it to be honest... I
edited a video in Microsoft Movie Maker and saved it ...I thought... When I
went in Nero to pull up the file and burn to dvd... It burned the whole movie
and deleted the file from my C:drive... What do you think Happened? and most
importantly what can I do about it?
