I just order some 4X DVD-R disks. There was a warning about using the disks
with certain Pioneer DVD drives. My DVD drive is not one of the models
listed. It is a DVR-105 drive, and the ones that will have problems are
listed as DVR-104 and DVR-103 (and others).

Anyone have any problems with 4X disks? Why would it matter. My drive had
no problems with 2X disks, and in fact only reliably records on 2X disks,
not 1X disks. I just assumed the 4X would be of better quality.

My drive docs don't say anything about the various DVD disks.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

Should be fine. The 4X simply indicates the maximum write speed, of which
your drive is under. The problem with the 1X disks was likely that the drive
was trying to write faster than the disks were capable of.
