DV-AVI error

When trying to save the movie as DV-AVI, I get an error message that the
program encountered an error and needs to shut down. It wants me to send the
error report to Microsoft, which I do. It says it has something to do with
Inter-Video. Not sure what I have that's Inter-Video (it's something like
....vidia.ax). I can save the movie using other formats, just not DV-AVI.
And, I want to use Nero to burn onto a DVD, which is why DV-AVI is my choice.

Any thoughts?

This is the error I get: Problem Description

An analyst at Microsoft has investigated this problem and determined that an
unknown error occurred in A Filter (IVIVIDEO.AX). This software was created
by InterVideo, Inc.

Can you tell me exactly how I get around this, or fix it?

Thanks. I went to papajohns, but quite frankly, don't think I really
understood. I thought it was telling me to rename the .ax file, which I did
by adding a 1 right before the .ax. That didn't seem to do anything.

I guess I will try this.

Steve

Excuse my lameness, but this is all getting pretty confusing. What do you
suggest I do to remedy? My next step was to go to the www.Kellys.org for the
renaming program. Is that not what's recommended?

I think I have WMM 2.0. Should I go up to 2.1? Should I upgrade my WinDVD?

Can you tell I'm confused. Thanks to all of you for the advice thus far.
Steve

the version of WinDVD is 4 and it came on my laptop over 2 years ago... my
version of Movie Maker went from 1 to 2.0 to 2.1 over that period.

I and no-one else ever reported an issue that was resolved by renaming the
ivividio.ax file... and I guess you renamed it but that didn't resolve your
issue. So it's still not a suspect to be added to my list.
