I have just set up a home network consisting of a desktop
running WinXP and a laptop running Win98 connected thru a
hub. Everything seems to work A-OK, however when I
display the "Entire Network", there are 2 workgroups
shown, both named "MSHOME". One contains the laptop and
the other contains the desktop.

Is there anyway to combine both machines into just
one "MSHOME" workgroup?? Trying to drag & drop doesn't
work

Thanks, Steve. I kind of thought it strange that the
same name appeared twice. As it turned out, using your
input I found that the workgroup for my laptop included a
space at the end (which obviously was not apparent when
viewing the workgroups in Network Neighborhood). Removed
the trailing space & everything's all in one workgroup.

Now that I have everything in one workgroup, how do I get
rid of the unneeded, empty workgroup from Network
Neighborhood?

There's no explicit way to do it. The empty workgroup will
automatically disappear after a while.
