duplicate personal folders

I somehow ended up with duplicate personal folders, so
any message I save gets saved to both. Same with those
that are sent. I can't rename one folder without its twin
also being renamed. Can't delete contents or folder
without the same happening to its clone. Anything I do to
one happens to the clone. So, how do I eliminate this
worthless duplication?

Outlook 2003
Negative on the right click
Questioning only 'cause I want to avoid consuming
excessive memory, and to keep the clutter to a minimum

Can you R click and Close the duplicate?
What Outlook version?

You'll have to delete it from the registry then, probably
here:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook
Within the Outlook folder, there are a bunch of folders with long
hexadecimal values for names -- those are the ones you need to look in to
see if you can find the ghost .PST names. If you delete one of the keys and
it points to your real .PST file instead of one of the ghosts, it's not the
end of the world -- your data won't be gone. The worst you would have to do
is recreate your Outlook profile.
