Duplicate Personal Folders/Contacts

I have duplicate Personal Folders showing up in Outlook. Anything I change on
one, is automatically changed on the other. I can't delete either because
they both show as being in active use. Also, if I delete one I may also
delete the other. This also impacts (screws up) my Contacts. In Address Book
two Contact files show up and I really only have one.

This is a BIG "pst" file that I've carried over from many previous versions
of Outlook and several computer crashes. I would very much like to fix it
rather than start from scratch.

Any helpful suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Your PST file is not the problem. Whatever you did to migrate your data to
this installation corrupted your profile.
Create a new one from scratch.
I'll assume you know how. You did not provide your version.

I have Office 2003. How can I get all the info from my existing "pst" into a
new "pst" file without starting from scratch?

Read my post. I said nothing about a new PST file. There is nothing wrong
with your PST file.
It is your profile that is corrupt.
Create a new one from scratch:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;829918&Product=out2003

Then use the correct method for migrating your PST file to this new profile.
This is most likely what you did incorrectly to when you migrated to Outlook
2003.

Thank you very much!!! I followed the instructions step by step and now have
Outlook in pretty good shape again.

Is there a way to transfer my rules and six e-mail accounts from the old
profile to the new one, or do I need to enter those from scratch?

Again, heaps of thanks.

The method to back up other data will vary with your Outlook version. You'll
find most of that information here:
