Hi,
When I right-clicked on a Desktop shortcut application
icon there were six duplicate entries on the dropdown
menu list. The same thing occurs on right-clicks in the
Desktop Directory folders in Windows Explorer.
I scrutinized the following keys in the Registry Editor
but found no "double" entries therein.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
I then proceeded to export the whole ContextMenuHandlers
Registry key, after which I deleted all the entries that
appeared as duplicates in the dropdown menu list. I then
re-added the entries, one at a time, and each entry
reappeared in duplicate again!! in the right-click
dropdown menu list.
As a result, the dropdown menu lists are now very long
and it is a serious nuisance to scroll to the desired
item. Can anyone shed some light on this annoying issue?
Thanks,
Michael
