The boss in my company takes his laptop home on weekends. He uses
another network (not his own) which assigns an IP address 192.168.0.10.
Our IP address range is 192.168.0.20-80 and the printers IP addresss is
192.168.0.10-12 (we have 3 printers). The printers are used by an old
hard programmed IP address so they cannot change. When my boss comes in
and hooks up his laptop, he gets a IP address error and causes printer
problems. I have to preform a ipconfig /renew to sort this out.
I have our DHCP leases on 1 day leases.
A previous post mentioned about a forced DHCP, but it was not a good
option for them. Can it be done?
At present I gave my boss a static IP with our DNS hoping that he
doesn't get a hiccup on the other network.
