Duplicate folders in Outlook 2000

DuplicateI have an associate that has two instances of the same folder when
she clicks the move to folder button. She will highlight the message she
wants to move and clicks the button. The folder list shows two instances of
the same folder. When she moves the message into the top folder it moves
correctly. If she selects the second duplicate folder the message disappears.
I have done a search and examined the folder tree and there is only one
folder with that name. She has several messages that are now lost from
selecting the second duplicate folder. Where are these message going and how
can I retrieve them? Let me know if a screenshot is needed. I hope someone
else has experienced this. I have never sen this before.
 
I found the problem. :) The messages were going to old pst file that was
still on her machine. The pst file was not attached in services but the
messages wer still going to that file. I imported that pst inter her new
exchange account and deleted her old pst. Problem solved.
