D Debra Dalgleish Jul 26, 2003 #2 Do you want to compare columns in two different files (workbooks), or on two sheets in the same workbook? Chip Pearson has information on finding and highlighting duplicates: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/duplicat.htm#HighlightingDuplicates You can use this Conditional Formatting technique if both sheets are in the same workbook, and you name the range on the second sheet. There are instruction here for naming a range: http://www.contextures.com/xlNames01.html Otherwise, you could use a formula in an adjacent column, to tag the duplicate entries. http://www.cpearson.com/excel/duplicat.htm#TaggingDuplicates
