I have been having the same problem (brand new Dell PC just a month old)
and it started roughly on april 2nd, with messages coming in every since
accumulated since March 31st. (Maybe this was somebody's April fool's Day
joke!) What antivirus program are you using? I have a 3 mo free trial with
McAfee, and around the same time this problem started, I started getting a
little popup message in the lower right hand corner of the screen saying
mcAfee couldn't connect with my server to scan email or something like that.
Someone else under the general category has written in suggesting turning
McAfee off and seeing if you still have the problem. In fact there are about
5 other inquiries on this same problem, all since March 31st. On my laptop
which is protected by Norton I am NOT having this problem. I am pretty sure
this is a problem with some sort of cache on my computer, because the
messages are definitely NOT still on the website. I can check my email via
my ISP's website and there is nothing there. Then I get 139 messages coming
in when I turn on Outlook Express, but only after I've rebooted the computer.
NOT if I just close and then reopen. Good luck.
