Duplicate emails.

I am using Outlook 2003 and using POP3 email. During any receive operation Outlook keeps downloading the same email even though I delete it. My settings are setup to delete from server when delete folder is emptied. When I empty the deleted folder Outlook then starts doing it again to another message. The duplicate keeps apearing regardless of its state (read, unread, etc.) This issue only happens with one message at a time. All other messages in the Inbox work fine.
 
do you have any AV software running? if so you might want to make sure it
is configured properly. if it is i have seen that disabling the message
scanning option, applying it, then re-enabling it can fix problems like
this. sometimes scanned messages get stuck in limbo between your AV
software and your mail client.
