I have about 1000 duplicate emails in the Inbox of Windows Mail. What is the
best way to eliminate these duplicates? Any quick way to do this would be
appreciated!

hi,
very simple: go to "Tools", "Accounts", then highlight "Mail", clck
"properties", "Advance" then uncheck the "Leave a copy on server".

Yes, this sounds simple.
But IMHO that's not a proper advice.

When the option "Leave a copy on the Server" is checked, under *normal*
circumstances this does *not* mean that the mails are downloaded a
second time.
The just stay there. And this is some kind of life insurance.

Loading again of already downloaded mails only happens when something
is wrong and/or a new mail account pointing to the same server is
created. Windows Mail keeps track of what has been loaded for an
account.

As to my experience one should leave the mails on the server and
perhaps specify a period of time for the storage there.
It's easy enough to delete the stored stuff when space on the server is
needed.

My 2 cents.
