Could someone please help. I am currently running windows 2003

When using Outlook, the Contacts Box on the right hand side of the screen shows
2 Folders/Files( I am unsure of the exact name) with exactly the same name.

Contacts ... no date held
Contacts ... 27 data items ( which contain my current contacts)

If I add data to the second folder/ file it also adds it to the first folder
/ file
How can I delete the 'contacts' with no data

Has anybody any idea as to how i can ged rid of the 'contacts' with no data
in it or do I have i just to put up with it.

Unclear post.
Your Outlook version matters, not your OS.
No version of Outlook has a "Contacts Box" on the R hand side of the screen.
Explain what you mean and define your view.

Hi Russ,

I am currently using Outlook 2003

once I have opened outlook

on the right hand side i Have the following

Mail
Calender
Contacts
Tasks

I I click on 'Contacts' then as my original post says it displays
two separate 'contacts' of identical names, which to me as 'non techie'
appears strange.

I hope this helps
Kind regards

You appear to be referring to the Navigation Pane which is on the left hand
side of the screen, not the right. If 2 Contact Folders appear, then you
have 2 Contact Folders. Only you can explain why. We didn't do it. Outlook
didn't do it. You did. We'll await your clarification.

Yes sorry the navigation panes are on the left. As to why I have 2 contacts
with the same name,i have no idea as to how they have arisen. My experience of
outlook is sinmply sending/receiving emails. My question was how do i get
rid of the empty one without causing myself any further problems.

You can delete any folder other than the default.
