duplicate contacts

For some reason Windows Mail is adding the email addresses of anyone who
sends me an email to my contact list. Often times duplicating the list. Is
there a feature that is turned on or something I need to turn on to stop
this? All names in a mass email are also added. Thanks for your help.
 
AFAIK, WM only adds people you reply to, in the Contacts list.... if you
have the feature checked....

Are you replying to these messages?
 
This feature is checked. However I do not reply to unsolicted emails, etc.
Or for that matter reply to corporations that email me (ie Nordstroms).

Uncheck the feature. They may be requesting a Read Receipt and WinMail may
be sending it without your knowledge. Look in Tools | Options.
