Hi there:

My client is running Outlook 2003 and SBS 2003 w/ Exchange
2003. When they "drag and drop" contacts from the company
public folder into their local contacts, Outlook does not
prompt to overwrite or update the current contact info.
Instead it just creates another copy of the contact.
Outlook is currently set to check for duplicate contacts,
and all the latest patches have been applied. If it's any
help, all the workstations are running win xp sp1 w/all
current updates.

Any ideas? Help is always appreciated! 8)

I know it doesn't solve your problem, but there are a couple of freeware
that can help you clean up duplicates afterwards.

Outlook Duplicates Remover
http://www.hlyspirit.org.uk/cms/index.php?id=7

Outlook Contacts Scrubber (can merge entries)
http://www.teamscope.com/otherpro/freeutil.asp
(you need to give them your email - they use it to send you the download
URL)

Hope this helps.

Thanks!!! 8)

Good to know there is a temporary fix for this, but I was
also wondering if anyone knows about a possible fix or
service pack thatt may address this issue.
