How do I eliminate duplicate photos? Every time I take one off my camera it
goes in 3 different files. How do I clean up these files??

Just wondering which files the
images appear in? Do you use
special software to download
your images? Do all the files
have the same name or do some
say...'copy of'?

John,

Just ran into the same problem today when I was attempting to make room on
my almost full hard drive. I realize that over the years and several
thousand pix, that a number of duplicates are sitting in many different file
under My Pictures.

Would also love to know of an accessory program to be able to quickly locate
these duplicates.

Jo

PS I just noticed that the subject is mispelled..."dupicate" instead of
"duplicate". Could this be a reason for no reply so far?

I don't know if it would serve your needs...
but MS Digital Image Library (included
with MS Digital Image Suite) has an option
to "Find Similar Pictures and Videos".

You can download a 60 day trial version at
the following link if you would like to try it.

When first opening the Library...you would
have to wait until your hard drive is scanned
and the database is populated...with all the
images you apparently have this may take
a while.

Microsoft Digital Image
Starter Edition 2006

(this offer is no longer being
promoted but I'm relatively sure
you can still download it and
run it for 60 days)
