Hiya.

I will try and make this clear. I wanted to attach a file in Hotmail but
when I clicked 'Browse' to search under 'My Documents' (where the files are),
that directory was not listed. I decided to move the 'Ny Documents' folder to
the C:/ directory. Unfortunately, it moved 'all' of my files while the
original 'My Documents' directory is still there.

Under 'Browse,' hotmail only shows history, desktop, my computer, a: drive,
c: drive, d: drive, and my network places.

The 'double' folders are $AVG8.Vault$, Documents and Settings, My albums, My
documents, my files, my music, my pictures, my received files, my videos, my
webs, program files, recycler, security, system volume information, temp, and
WinNT.

How do I remove these folders from 'one directory' without them also being
deleted from 'the other?'

I hope that makes sense!

When I added 'My Documents' under C:/, I was able to attach the folder
because C:/ was listed under 'Browse.'

How do I get rid of all the duplicate folders/files under either My
Documents or C drive?

This is the Windows 2000 Active Directory newsgroup, however this is not an
Active Directory question. You should search for the appropriate newsgroup
based on the topic you need assistance with. I would have cross posted it
for you, but you didn't specify which operating system you are referring to
(2000, XP, Vista?) because each one handles "My Docs" a little differently.

As a pointer, if you change the location of My Docs, the new location (all
data is moved to it) dictates the contents, not the original location,
therefore you can delete anything from the original location. Right-click My
Docs, properties, it will tell you where the current location is. Do not
delete from that location.

Search for the appropriate newsgroup based on your operating system please
for a more elaborate response.
