Okay, I'm stuck now in front of the Elven Shrine (Act I, Chapter IV:
The Plague) because none of the three characters I have are at Ranged
Level 6, which is required to open that door.

Anything I can do *besides* going through everything trying to build up
my Ranged Level (which is at a mere 3)??? No, I'd rather not start all
over, either!

TIA!

Hi NYC XYZ,

The whole concept behind the requirement is to keep the player involved
in playing the game, rather than rushing through the levels to get through
the demo, however with that said, you can help yourself build up to L6
faster if you google for Dungeon Siege II cheat codes. Enjoy the game!

Hey y'all, thanks for your advice -- I just went and bought the damned
game anyway!

I'm surprised the online prices, after shipping and taxes, are no
better than retail in NYC. Everyone seems to be selling them at the
~$33 price point. Interestingly, the "Broken World" expansion pack
retails here for the same exact price!

I can't stand the dumb storyline, though. Ultimas 4 through 7 have
really spoiled this '80s-child!

I just sold my Dungeon Siege II on eBay for $16 free shipping... I should
have checked here first.

I didn't care for the game, and didn't get very far before I offed it.

That price seems pretty high. I picked up the game new 6 months ago for $15.
I played it for about two hours and moved on. I really enjoyed the first
one, but I just can't get into the way this one is done. JLC

Yes, I was very surprised, too -- but then again, "new" at retail is
$50, so I did expect the $30 price...only not online! I did find lower
prices online, but not from the bigger businesses, so I just figured,
why not support the local economy here and play it right away. =)

I do agree that this one is not quite as interesting as the first. The
first was basically a "pretty-fied" or "made-up" hack-n-slash dungeon
crawl, and it was fine for what it was. This sequel is rather
pretentious, with some bullshit "back-story" and blah blah kind of
stupid FedEx-type quests.

The game has still got enough of the simple-minded hack-n-slash of the
original (like a good arcade shoot-em-up), good for some fairly
mindless fun, but the attempt at a storyline is ridiculous and rather
annoying, what with the FedEx-type quests. It's basically a kind of
porn, I think -- not sexual porn, but a kind of eye-candy porn...I'm
making my way through the game because I'm interested in the visuals,
that's all (and the "Pokemon effect" of finding and collecting powerful
artifacts, etc. [the hoarding instinct]), so the silly story (oh God,
yet another eschatological back-story, zzzzzzzzzzz...) was annoying,
since it's stupid but I have to pay attention in case any of it matters
somehow.
