DUN to connect to my home PC?

Can I use Dial Up Networking (or something else in XP) to get my home
computer to answer incoming phone calls from other computers?

I want someone in my family to be able to dial up to my computer - and then
browse the internet using my ADSL connection - rather than dial up their
ISP.

The reason for this is because in the UK, TalkTalk are offering free phone
calls between TalkTalk customers.

As both my family/friends and I have joined - we now get free calls between
one another - free internet calls would be the next best thing and a great
benefit.

I use Windows XP Prof and have ADSL. I also have an old modem which I only
use for backup/sending fax's.

Sure... It is called "Incoming Connections." For full instructions
on this, go to Start => Help & Support and search for Incoming
Connections. This is the best resource for this information...

Hope that helps.. :)

Hi Si,

I'm also trying to setup my XP Pro to accept DUN but there aren't any GUI to
enable the modem to answer the incoming DUN. I have setup all necessary
procedures to allow incoming connections but the big problem is where to
find the GUI to have the XP Pro answer the incoming DUN call through its
modem. If you can solve this, please post.

Thanks

If your modem supports AutoAnswer, it will automatically do this...
