dumping zone alarm

I've been using Zone Alarm as my firewall, but it slows down my machine
something awful so I'm thinking of dumping it. Does the Windows Firewall work
as well; if so, how best to make the change?

The one thing to remember about Windows XP firewall is that it does not
filter and block outbound transmissions. It is Microsoft's philosophy
that whatever application in the computer makes an outbound send, it is
doing so with the user's full knowledge and permission. The Windows XP
firewall can only block incoming ones.

Then am I to assume that I need ZA and that you can't diss Windows?

Weird. I use ZA after having dumped McAfee and Symantec at
different times from different machines because each of _them_
slowed down performance or otherwise produced malaffects.
Is there anything unusual about your ZA configuration?

Try Comodo Firewall. It runs fast, has a nice interface and it is Free !

Good Luck, Ayush.
I have been using Comodo for quite a while and have experienced no
problems with it.
