They say there are no dumb questions, but ...

Got the standard "your mailbox is getting full" message.

I have absolutely no idea how to:
1) save my email messages onto my hard drive so I can
delete them from Outlook Express; and
2) open them once they're saved so I can refer to them in
future.

Answers? Referalls to other posts that have answered this
already?

Please be gentle ....

Thanks so much,

Dale

Ask in an Outlook Express forum. This is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

Here is the link for the right forum
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer

Good Luck!

In Account settings (Tools-Accounts) go to server settings and make sure
that "Leave a copy on the server" is NOT checked. This message comes from
your ISP and is an indication that the mailbox that exists on your ISP
server (NOT local messages in OE) is not having messages deleted when you
are downloading them
I have absolutely no idea how to:
1) save my email messages onto my hard drive so I can
delete them from Outlook Express; and

if you are reading your mail in OE then you ARE downloading them to your
HDD - see above.
2) open them once they're saved so I can refer to them in
future.

See above

I thought I was a relatively smart cookie, but I have no
idea what your message meant!

More importantly, I did check in the Account settings and
the "leave copy on server" is NOT checked. So I'm
assuming that I'm okay...

Thanks very much,

Dale

Sorry 'bout that ... I do have Microsoft and just assumed
that Outlook Express was an offshoot of Outlook ... had no
idea they were in different families (you must admit the
nomenclature is a tad confusing!)

Thanks,

Dale

You're not alone in this so don't be too bothered about it (I've got a
standard reply for it :-D)
