Apologies for what may be a dumb and perhaps oft-asked
question...when I click on a link in IE that is or should
be an email address, my email---AOL---used to open
automatically, it no longer does and I get an error
message that says "Can't perform that operation. Default
Mail Client not Properly Installed."

How can I fix that???? Sometimes the email addresses on
various sites are not always visible for me to cu and
paste....

Many thanks!

Paul

IE Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Mail> Is AOL a choice here?

No guarantees whatsoever but you might try:

Sign on to AOL.

Click the Keyword button.

In the resulting "Keyword" dialog, type the word "Preferences" (without
quotes) into the text box, and click the Go button.

In the resulting "Preferences" dialog, click on the Association link to
select "America Online" as your preferred application for e-mail.

In the resulting "Associations Preferences" dialog, click the OK button.
