Dublicate entries in contacts

When accessing the contacts list by either the clicking on the "to"
button, or on the address book button, i notice that i get multiple entries
for the same name if i have fax and email information specified in the
actual contacts folder.

The problem is that it doesnt specify if the name is for email or for fax in
the popup window, until you actually click on it.

Is there a way to make the name only appear once. I do not need fax or want
fax information to appear in this popup. all it does is confuse users. They
see multiple entries for the same name, and dont know which one to use.

Ive found some workarounds, but none of them actually address the issue. The
workarounds i have found are

store fax numbers in a different field thant fax.

This would involve changing everyones outlook contacts settings as well as
reconfiguring the palm conduits so that fax #s go to this place. (a pretty
ugly solution)

Dont use the Fax field:

hmmm same palm issues anyway.


If the select list would even provide another field that stated "business
fax" for "smtp" it would be livable. anyone know a way to to this??

That was nice of MS to assume everyone is going to have a fax server
installed in their envrionment.


any suggestions would be appreciated..
