Dublicate copies

I hope some can help me figure out a mystery. I try to
delete some pictures in MY PICTURES, or MY DOCUMENTS, and
sometimes I get duplicate copies(1) (2) (3) etc..... It
is so scary. What can I do to prevent this from
happening... Each time I try to delete them, I get
another copy...HELP!
I have Windows XP. Thank you.

Is it possible that you are dragging the files to the Recycle Bin and
accidentally drop them beforehand? XP can be very sensitive to variations
of pressure on the mouse buttons. Try selecting the file(s) and then
pressing to Delete on the keyboard to see if you can achieve better
results.

Also... if selecting multiples, be very careful to release the mouse button
before moving to click on the next file.
