How do I verify that my system is using the dual-core stuff?
Do control-alt-delete and bring up the Task Manager.
Select the Performance tab.
Do you see two graphs at the top ?
One graph is for core 0 and the other graph for core 1.
Another ingredient. Go to Device Manager. Click the
"Computer" entry at the top. Mine shows
"ACPI Multiprocessor PC" (I'm using Win2K). My
P4 processor has Hyperthreading, and is interpreted
as two virtual CPUs. You should have something similar
in your Device Manager, if you have the right Hardware
Abstraction Layer (HAL) installed in Windows to use the
dual cores. If you have "transplanted" your Windows
install from an older computer, that part could be
screwed up.
