Bill V

I am trying to help a friend.
They have win XP home.
Someone , who is not available now, set the computer up as dual user....is
that the right term......where there is two names and one is primary on the
desktop.

What needs to be done is to change the computer back to simply no user
preference as in only one user with no selection process to use the
computer...whew
Does this make sense?

If so someone please help me, and or point me in the right direction,
please.

Hi Bill,

Logged on as administrator go to Start > Control Panel > User
accounts, delete the account you don't want.

Or

Go to Start >Run and type 'control userpasswords2' (without the
quotation marks). Select the account you're using and click on
properties.

Then go to the 'groups,' tab, check 'others' and in the drop down
menu that appears, select 'Administrators.' OK your way out.

This should give your account administrative privileges.

From here you can also delete accounts.

You had better be careful, though, as when you delete an account you
may also delete the Documents folder that go with the account, and if
you have information in this folder, that will be lost unless you back
it up.

Hope this helps.

thank you......Bill V.
