Dual Screen problems

I'm trying to get a pc to run xp embedded and we need it to have a dualscreen.
Regular XP professional has no problem with this,
but when i try to integrate the latest video drivers on embedded, they don't
seem to be correctly installed after FBA finishes and it doesn't detect my
second screen.

I've also tried reinstalling the drivers after FBA has run, no luck there.
The ati tool used to configure the videocard via the displaysettings isn't
working either.

Anybody got some experience with this?

Welcome fellow ATI User.

I initially had many probs getting my X1400 working, but I got there in the
end. basically I had to re-make my component from a modified INF file, that
told it *not* to install the ATI Poller service.

Things you need to know are the APPs that most ATI's user, namely "Catlyst"
need the .NET Framework to install and run. If you don't need the fancier
settings your card gives you then just the driver is fine. ( No need for
Framework if you are only using the driver ). The driver will give you Dual
Screen, including independant res, and refresh rates. I use it myself and
all works fine.

Another thing to know is that if yours is anything like mine, you will need
to address any MAIN drivers first. Like for instance, Intel's main chipset
driver. Once you have that installed then Windows will pickup that you have
other devices that are further down the line. Typically the graphics card.

Try downloading the ATI SLD's from either XPFiles.com or Sean Limings site.
Sean has an ATI setup that apparently address the ATI Poller service prob.

Also, make sure ( WHile you testing ) that you use the "Windows Installer"
componant, so you can install Software during run-time. That way you can see
if it works after having loaded the driver manually at run-time. If it works
at run-time after having installed the driver manually, then obviously there
would be something wrong with your config or hand made component.

Hope this helps.

More handy tips for testing your devices.

Use the following components.........

Windows Installer
Device Mananger
System Control Panel
Add Remove Hardware
Add / Remove Programs Control Panel ( to see if your devices app is
installed and listed )
Class Installers / Hardware Compatibility
Generic Device Driver Support

Cheers!

Thanks,
I'll try it,
hope it works.
