dual processors

Dualman

The Bios see two procossers and i did install them both
with windows xp pro. the way i know that they are not both
working is in the task manger i only see one CPU usage and
i should see two.

Someone told me that i had to change something in the devie
manger to make it see two i doint know if this is turue or not.

Dualman,

In Task Manager, under the Performance tab, click View and select CPU
history and see if One Graph Per CPU is checked. It sounds like it might not
be, which is why you only see the one graph although it is for both CPUs
combined.

In the device manager, find the Computer device. Check its properties. It probably says UniProc ACPI. You need to upgrade its drivers to MultiProc ACPI. You can do that using the Driver TAB and selecting the appropriate upgrade. This updates the HAL which requires a reboot. You should be alright after that.

I can't remember the Microsoft KB for it, but search the Knowledge Base for "dual CPU". The instructions there are good.
