1 My device manager shows two processors
2 Under Help,tools,general info it shows one processor
3 In taskman,performance, it shows one processor
4 At boot the bios sees two processors
5 Asus Probe software shows two processors

With the discepencies in xp about the Number of
processors, Can I be sure both are working and is the os
using them

Only Windows XP Professional supports dual processors.
And both XP Pro and XP Home support hyper-threading,
if both your processor and motherboard support H-T.

Was HT support in home an SP update, or did PC Mag just plain get it wrong
in trying to bash MS & Home edition? (Ref article linked elsewhere in

Yes, I know about P-3. In fact, I'm waiting for the 3.06Ghz/533 to come down
to a reasonable price before pulling my P4 1.7 G 478.
